TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION EXPO’ 2021 (15TH – 19TH MARCH, 2021)

• The 5th edition of the Science, Technology and Innovation Expo tagged TechnoExpo 2021 will commence from the 15th – 19th March, 2021 at the Eagles Square, Abuja, Nigeria with the theme ”SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION FOR ECONOMY RECOVERY AND SUSTAINABILITY AMIDST COVID 19 CHALLENGES ”. The opening ceremony will have in attendance top government officials, diplomats, members of the civil society, stakeholders in research and development (R&D) and students. The ceremony will officially be declared open by the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, his Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

• TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION EXPO 2021

  with the theme “Science, Technology and Innovation for Economic Recovery and Sustainability Amidst COVID-19 Challenges”.

  The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology (FMST), in pursuit of its mandates of popularizing Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) has finalized arrangement to organize Technology and Innovation Expo 2021 to facilitate commercialization of Research and Development results and encourage  inventions and innovations. 

  The main objectives of the Expo are to:

  i. Encourage interactions between Researchers and Investors with a view to commercializing research results, inventions and innovations from Nigeria’s research and tertiary institutions;

  ii. Bring to fore the capabilities of Nigerian Scientists, Engineers, Inventors/Innovators in contributing to economic diversification of Nigeria;

  iii. Promote collaborations among research institutions and researchers/inventors;

  iv. Facilitate growth of indigenous manufacturing hinged on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), as well as generally promote STI culture in Nigeria.

  The Technology and Innovation EXPO 2021 will last for five (5) days featuring:

  i. ​Opening Ceremony;

  ii.​ Exhibition of Research and Development results, inventions/innovations, and STI products and services;

  iii.​ Technology Entrepreneurs’ exhibition; 

  iv.​ Investors /Researchers Forum;

  v. Technical Sessions on emerging STI issues in Technopreneurship, ICT Manufacturing and the Local Economy, Science of African (Nigeria) Traditional Medicine and Blue Economy;

  vi. Special Days for Organizations, States etc,

  vii. Assessment of R/D results, Inventions / Innovations and STI Products and Services on display;

  viii. Awards of prizes, certificates etc to outstanding Organizations, Researchers, Technology Entrepreneurs, and Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists (JETS).  (Cash prizes will be awarded in the following categories – Tertiary Institutions, Research Institutions, Technology Entrepreneurs, States’ Ministries in Charge of Science and Technology and JETS.
